Dhikala is open for tourists from 15th November up to 15th June. Dhikala is inaccessible in the Monsoon season. As we all know Dhikala Zone is the most popular area of Jim Corbett National Park for Jungle Safari, Dhikala Forest is known as a core area of Jim Corbett National Park, Dhikala is located right in the middle of Corbett National Park, Dhikala forest lodge overlooks Ramganga Reservoir. Dhikala Zone is the most popular & beloved tourist in Jim Corbett National Park, Dhikala is a Paradise expecting the Dhikala Complex is the most explored next place to stay at, Lots of Chitals Elephants are seen from the complex itself, Which attracts park visitors enormously. Dhikala stay at once will be a lifetime experience, Dhikala is accessible via Ramnagar, The Dhangari gate is the main entrance for Dhikala Forest Lodge, The Dhangari gate is located 19 km away from Ramnagar and Dhikala Tourist Complex is 32 Km away from Dhangari Gate. Dhikala Forest Lodge is situated 43 km away from Ramnagar town.

The Bijrani zone in Corbett National Park is the first choice among day tourists. Its entry is at Aamdanda which is about 1 km. away from Ramnagar. After entering through the Aamdanda gate, you cross about 5 km. of the buffer zone before reaching Bijrani and Jungle Safari starts from this point.

Bijrani is a beautiful spot and is known for its vast grasslands, deep forest, stormy drains, and wildlife. To visit this area, permission is required by the Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve. Maximum 30 vehicles are allowed to travel into Bijrani during the morning and the same number of vehicles is allowed in the evening hours. For morning safari advance booking is needed and for evening safari, permits are given on a first come first serve basis. Bijrani has a forest lodge of 6 bedrooms which accommodate 4 bed in a room. Jhirna zone in Corbett National Park has situated 16 km. from Ramnagar. You have to get the permit issued by the Corbett Tiger Reserve before you proceed to Jhirna Zone. This area is full of natural beauty and especially known for its wild beer which suddenly appears from nowhere near your vehicle. 30 vehicles are allowed to get into this area in the morning and the same number is allowed in the evening timing. For morning trips, a day visit permit is released in advance which comes into effect for six days before the actual day of the trip. For evening trips, first come first serve is followed. This is the only visitor zone in Corbett National Park which is open for all 12 months. It’s necessary to take a guide along with it. Jhirna has a forest lodge that has two rooms. You can stay the night here and go for an elephant safari in the early morning.

Durgadevi zone in Corbett National Park is farthest from Ramnagar at 28 km. This zone is a hill station area and is situated along the banks of Ram Ganga River. Besides seeing wildlife, you can also look at popular Mahasheer fish in the river waters. On your way, you can halt at the Dhangarhi museum. During the day visit, the same rules are applicable here as for Bijrani and Jhirna.

Dhikala is the biggest forest zone in the Corbett National Park and you enter this zone via the Dhangarhi gate. You have to show your permit at the entrance gate for proof and once it is checked then only you are authorized to enter the park. Once you are within the Dhangarhi gate, your Corbett Safari proceeds.  Only those who have a permit to stay overnight in the park are allowed to take the safari. You can stay for the night in the Corbett National Park for one to three nights. It takes about one to one and a half hours to reach the forest lodge inside the park. On the way, you will encounter dense Sal forests, look at Ram Ganga river and will across many monsoon-drenched drains. Travelling by gipsy is not permitted in Dhikala Zone during day time. However, you can travel into this area by a Canter(Vehicle) i.e Canter Safari which takes in 18 passengers and starts off from Ramnagar in the morning and return to base in the afternoon. This tour is called a Ram Ganga conducted tour and is permitted by the Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Sitabani tourist zone is not under the Corbett tiger reserve. In Sitabani, there is no restriction on the vehicle. It is a famous zone for bird watching. Sitabani is the only forest in Corbett where we can walk inside the forest. Sitabani is known for a temple and river. Tourists can take some rest in the riverbank and see the reptiles. Tourists can go for a safari in the morning and evening. When all the zones of Corbett Tiger Reserve are full then we choose the Sitabani zone for safari. The authority of Corbett national park does not issue permits for this. Sitabani forest department provides the slip for this safari. Scenic view of this part of the forest calls many tourists again and again.
